Prosperity – The Greatest Prosperity Lessons

  1. You are the creator in your own life. The law of attraction will bring to you all that you focus on with emotion, as you create the vibration that matches with the prosperity you desire.
  2. When you form a vacuum you create room to manifest new desires. For instance, if you clean out the clutter in your house or office, it signals the Universe to send new items to you.
  3. When you send out a clear intention you are placing your order with the Universe. Be specific in what you want to be manifest.
  4. Allow the Universe to work on your behalf without interference. This means that you allow the Universe to use any means or channels it wants to fulfil your request. Furthermore, that you let go of your need for the manifestation.
  5. As you go about your daily life, think, act and believe as much as you can that you have already received the prosperity you have asked for.
  6. Believe that there is a higher power that wants you to lead a prosperous and blessed life.
  7. Use the power of prayer to reiterate your needs and desires.
  8. Practice gratitude for everything you already have. Remember that when you don’t feel gratitude for the present blessings in your life, you create a blockage to receiving anymore.
  9. Without forgiveness you can never clear the negativity that is essential to manifest prosperity. Forgive yourself and every one of all things.
  10. Use visualization to manifest the abundance you want. Sit quietly and picture in your mind the state you would like to create. Visualize with clarity, color and emotion, exactly what you would like to be manifest.
  11. When you give you receive. When you give with love and no thought of return you can manifest up to a hundred fold increase.
  12. Do all that you can to give out a high vibration, by being happy, enjoying your every day life. Even if your life is not as happy as you would like, make an effort anyway to appreciate every little good thing that you can.
  13. Take time to think of the abundant world that you live in. A small seed becomes a large tree that in turn produces an abundance of fruit. There is no shortage and there is more than enough for everyone.
  14. Realize that your abundance does not mean that someone else has to go without. There is plenty for everyone to prosper.
  15. You must feel a sense of worthiness and self-esteem in order to attract wealth. If you feel that you don’t deserve it, you are pushing it away.
  16. By dwelling on the fact that you are a unique, one-of-a-kind person and that there is no-one in the entire world that has your talents, you will come to understand that you are as worthy as anyone.
  17. Always live your life as a person who is trustworthy and shows integrity in all that you do. Living your life this way signals to the Universe that you can be trusted to handle greater wealth.
  18. 8. Money needs to be spent or given away in order to circulate. Wealth must be in circulation in order to come into your life.
  19. Holding onto money and goods unnecessarily signals the Universe that you fear lack. Anything that you fear eventually manifests in your life.
  20. The more you practice appreciation and joy the easier it becomes to tap into the higher vibrations that act as a magnet to attract more of the same.
  21. Mentally bless others and be glad for them when they prosper and succeed. When you do this, you are giving out the magnetic energy that will bring the same blessings to you.
  22. As you fall to sleep at night, ask for creative and prosperous ideas to be given to you. You will find that as you sleep, ideas will come into your mind, which will help your own unique talents to bring abundance to you.
  23. Have a deep desire to live the life of your dreams and have no doubts that this life will eventuate, as you give clear detailed instructions to the Universal power.
  24. Find ways to reprogram any negative core beliefs which may be holding you back. Using visualization to re-frame past situations, by replaying them and imagining the ending you would have liked.
  25. Change negative beliefs by acting as your own lawyer, arguing the counter rationales until they change into new positive beliefs.
  26. Alcohol or drugs will not numb your inner pain, in fact they will stop you dealing with pain in a way that will cure it for good. Seek out professional advice to deal with negativity and pain once and for all.
  27. Always look for the positive thoughts to keep your vibration high. There is always a silver lining if you look for it.
  28. The power of affirmations will enable you to think in a more positive way and do help in the manifestation of your prosperity.
  29. You can program your subconscious mind by thinking the thoughts that you want to be manifest as you fall to sleep at night.
  30. Hypnosis is an excellent way to let go and change your inner core beliefs which will be holding you back. It will place into your subconscious mind the beliefs that will work for your good.
  31. No-one achieves success and abundance alone, we all need the help and guidance of other people. Therefore choose your friends carefully.
  32. Let go of ‘energy vampires’ and choose friends who support you and build you up, who believe in you.
  33. Change your daily habits by studying the habits prosperous people have. Don’t waste your money on things which lose their value. Invest instead, in businesses or goods which appreciate in value.
  34. The more you learn about managing your finances the better choices you will make.
  35. Setting goals using intense desire, and then acting on them is one of the quickest ways to generate wealth.
  36. Planning your life will bring success. Not making plans is the same as planning to fail.
  37. Writing down your goals regularly and reviewing them is the only way to be successful at achieving them.
  38. Take action every day, even small actions will move you towards realizing your goals.
  39. In everything, you do, resolve to go the extra mile, always do more than is asked of you.
  40. Be willing to take a risk. Big rewards often mean taking bigger risks. But bear in mind that all risk should be thoroughly calculated, giving you at least some chance of success.
  41. Whatever field you are working in, or whatever type of business you are running, do everything with excellence. Excellence brings its own reward.
  42. Never blame others for your failures. Just learn, move on, and use the knowledge gained to bring you greater success in the future.
  43. Generally, working for someone else creates wealth for them, not for you. Having your own business is the surest way to wealth.
  44. You are most likely to have prosperity manifest in your life when you work at something you love. When you enjoy your work you are giving out the prosperous energy which you need to enable you to receive.
  45. Being creative and being different in any field that adds value, is a sure road to wealth.
  46. Ask the Universe to give you many avenues of wealth producing ideas. Always have more than one income stream coming in, then you will prosper in good and bad times.
  47. Money which is planted in areas such as property, business, art, jewelry and other growth investments will accumulate to bring you more.
  48. Always save part of your income. Endeavour to have six months’ worth of living expenses in your bank account, for emergencies.
  49. Remember, when you have cash you are always ready to take advantage of opportunities as they come your way.
  50. Money has its own energy so use it wisely.

May all of your dreams come true!

How sensitive are you to life’s messages?

How sensitive are you to life’s messages?

How sensitive are you to life's messages?
How sensitive are you to life’s messages?

How sensitive are you to life’s messages?

Do you sometimes feel as if your world is falling down around you? Have you experienced one setback after another? Then this article is for you.

If we believe that the Universe is essentially good then why do these things happen? Could it be that you are ignoring the messages that are being sent to you?

We have all heard people say that when one door closes another door opens. This is the same way the Universe works to guide you and direct you. When you find that over time you are meeting bigger and bigger obstacles that each door is larger and slams louder, then maybe you are not listening to the messages that are trying to get through.
You may have lost your job or your business is failing. It could be that a special relationship is becoming more difficult day by day. If you are finding that no matter what you do you are meeting problems after problems, then it is time to take notice and listen.

It seems that when one wrong turn is taken on your life path, others follow. That is often because the Universal power is trying to turn you back onto the right path.
Maybe your future lies in a different direction, and you are being shown that your current path is the wrong path for you.

If this rings a bell with you then it is time to get quiet and open up your heart to the messages that are being given.

Even though you may feel upset and even angry in your present situation, know that there is another reality for you. Quantum Mechanics tell us that we have the choice of multiple realties and that each decision we make guides us into one or another of those multiple realties.

So how do you know which path or direction to take? There are several things that you can do. The first is taking the time to get quiet. Personally, I find that a long walk in nature is the best way to block out the busyness of life and open me up to listen to my inner spirit.

As you walk or sit in the quiet, think back over recent events and ask yourself these questions.

Even though I felt it was the wrong thing to do, did I do it anyway?
Did I ignore my gut reaction?
Was I being stubborn and trying too hard to make it happen?
I could see the writing on the wall but ignored it?
Did other doors open that I didn’t notice or ignored?
Did I face reality or did I continue to live in a dream?
Am I too set in my ways and resistant to change?
Did I try too hard to justify a wrong decision?
In retrospect was it obvious that things couldn’t continue in the same way?
Will I allow myself to develop a different future, by facing my fears?

Sometimes we are afraid to change and fear a future that we can’t imagine at this point. However, changes can be made incrementally, and as they are made the future will unfold in a time frame that we can cope with.

What if your resistance to what is, is preventing you from experiencing a wonderful new way of living. Before changes can be made you have to accept the way things are and allow them to be that way. That is lowering your resistance to them. Only by doing so can you become open to new beginnings.

There is a path where your realty is all that you dream it to be, you just have to find that path. You find that path by being sensitive to the world around you. By seeing the events that are happening in your life and rating them. Are you fighting too hard? Is one direction more difficult than another? Are you aware of coincidences?
When you relax and let go of fear, by knowing that there is a new and better future, then you will become sensitive to life’s messages.

My wish is that this article will awaken within you a new sense of adventure and a sure knowledge that a wonderful new life is waiting, especially for you.

May wonderful blessings happen in your life, and all of your dreams come true.

Help or Not Help How do you choose? Find Out!

Help or Not Help How do you choose? Find Out!

Help or Not Help How do you choose?
Help or Not Help How do you choose?

Help or Not Help  How do you choose?

Sometimes I find that I am helping the same person repeatedly, and nothing improves. Have you found you do the same?

For most of us it is natural to want to be helpful and fix problems for friends and family if we can, but very often the best action you should take is no action at all.
Maybe the person doesn’t want your help, but just a sounding board to talk through their problem. And sometimes, the person may not realize that they need help, and indeed cannot be helped.

I would like to offer you some suggestions that will enable you to decide when to help and when to leave well enough alone.

One of the first considerations may be to ask, have you the skills, time, money or empathy to give to this person?

Are they asking for what they want you to do, or what would be best for them?
Can they help themselves? Are you the best person to help or would someone else be more useful?

So should you help or not?

You should always do your best to help whenever the person who is asking is a child or perhaps elderly or infirm, then you should always do what you can or to seek professional help for them.

For instance, a child may be suffering from some form of abuse and may be finding it difficult to express their feelings or tell you exactly what is happing to them. In this case, a gentle approach could get them to open up and talk to you.

Other situations that your family or friends may be going through that deserve your help can be during a time of grief, or illness, or financial strife that is not of their making.
As we all know, the events of recent times have caused a lot of people to lose their homes or jobs through no fault of their own. If you are in a position to help them get back on their feet, then perhaps you should do what you can.

It could be that one of your friends is trying hard to improve their skills or lifestyle, and you could help with that process. In this case, you could choose to help them along with encouragement or in a more practical way.

So, a good way to decide whether to help or not is when the person is either unable to help themselves through no fault of their own or when they are doing the best they can and simply need a leg up.

When not to help!

If your friend or family member has put themselves in a deep hole of their own making, recklessly ignoring basic common sense, and done similar things in the past, you may have tried many times to help them make wiser decisions, but you are wasting your time!

These people are often spendthrifts, drug abusers, violent and untrustworthy. Others can be energy vampires, those who suck your energy dry and care for no-one but themselves and their own needs. We all know people like this, don’t we?
Then there are people who refuse to change their beliefs and lifestyle choices that continually give birth to new problems.

We all know people who believe they are superior and think that they deserve the undying devotion and help of all their friends. These people are often quite capable of dealing with their own misfortunes, but choose to use the resources of others instead.
Finally ask yourself the question – should you help someone who never attempts to help others themselves? These people often feel that they are justified in accepting help and never have any intention of giving it.

Sometimes we help because it makes us feel better. This can often end up being detrimental to the person receiving the help and in the long term to you too.
When considering whether to help, make sure that your motives are right, that the person will benefit from your assistance and that they actually want your help.
One last point I would like to make is that you should make sure that you do have the resources, whether time, money or energy, and that by helping you will not be creating new problems for yourself.

Part of being fellow travelers on this planet is being able to help each other through our journey and by doing so we can give and receive great joy and satisfaction.
Why not take a few moments to consider how you can help someone or perhaps to reconsider if you should continue to squander your own resources helping someone with no effect.

“A kind and compassionate act is often its own reward.” William John Bennet

Understanding the Art of Allowing

Understanding the Art of Allowing

Understanding the Art of Allowing

Over the last couple of days, I have been listening to ‘The Astonishing Power of Emotions’ by Esther and Jerry Hicks and had an amazing revelation. Like me, perhaps you’ve found the second or third time of listening to audio or reading a book that a light-bulb moment happens. Suddenly you have a greater understanding of the words than you had before. Now I would like to help you experience that light-bulb moment for you. This excellent book teaches us how to use our emotions as a guide so we can apply the Law of Attraction to our best advantage.

You will soon see that in every instance to complete the attraction process you have to master the Law of Allowing. And as you absorb this information, you’ll see why many people are not successful when using the law of attraction to create their dream life. The reality is most of us are so used to striving to achieve goals and fighting our way through life. The idea of letting go and allowing an outcome to arrive in its own time is difficult for us to do. The truth of the matter is, allowing is the opposite of striving. Please let that sink in for a moment. Jerry Hicks uses the analogy of rowing a boat. He explains the practice of allowing is the difference between rowing a boat upstream versus letting the current take you gently downstream. The light-bulb moment for me was the instruction to just let go, letting the current take you along. So, what’s the lesson? It is simply that you need to let go of a particular outcome, let go of expectations, let go of trying to control our family, friends, workmates and environment. If you are like me, the thought of letting go, relaxing and allowing the Universe to bring to me the possessions I want in its own time is such a relief. Think about, what a beautiful experience it is….to just let go… to relax… and let our thoughts bring about our desires.

Have you focused your thoughts on what you want and then worried about how it will come about, or if it’s even possible? Just think about it, as soon as you start doing this you are, in fact, sending out the complete opposite vibration to what you want. The result is that you receive the opposite of what you are asking for. Are you beginning to see how essential it is not to dwell on the many possible results? By letting go of the ending, often something happens that is even better than you hoped for, or appears from an unimagined source. If you find it hard to turn off those thoughts, don’t worry. All you have to do is make the following suggestion. “I am looking forward to receiving ………..and I know the Universe can bring this to me in many varied and miraculous ways.”

The law of attraction works on the emotions that we produce, and thus the energy released attracts like to like. What this all means is the act of letting go and relaxing gives us the vibrations that we need to attract the best to us. Like many of us, I am normally a goal oriented person and the thought of letting go was anxiety producing, as I like to be in control. However, imagine doing the opposite, being given the permission if you like, of letting the monkeys slide off your back. It makes sense doesn’t it? When you try to control everything, strive and fight for what you want, you can never produce the highest vibrations to attract your hopes and dreams.

The law of attraction is so simple. Keep focusing on what you want, form the emotions that vibrate with what you want, then relax and allow those wishes to appear for you. This doesn’t mean that you take no action at all, but try different actions, ones that move you toward your goal. Yes, of course down the track you should take steps to help those dreams along. However, this would be an action with a difference. That is taking action when prompted to by the Universe. Inspired action without a feeling of striving or stress, but feels right and natural. These actions are ones which make you feel good. The inspiration for these actions could be an unexpected door opening to a new opportunity. Perhaps the universe uses a dream to give you a new creative idea.

So, see yourself mastering the Law of Allowing, and then why not try an experiment? Think of one item that you would like to manifest for you. I suggest just a small object, as this will give you practice and the confidence to move on to bigger requests in the future. Think of this desire with emotion and bring up all the best thoughts you can about it. What it will feel like when it arrives? Smile as you look forward to how the Universe is going to bring this manifestation to you. Find it exciting and interesting to watch how the vibration activates the attraction to manifest this desire. Have no preconceived thoughts of the process, prepare to be amazed at the result.

Now picture yourself five years from now when you have mastered the art of allowing. Your life would be entirely different. Clearly, the idea is to find the better feelings and thoughts in all that you do. This will reduce your stress and set up a constant vibration that is attracting all your hopes and dreams into your life.

The Law of Attraction and the Science of Getting Rich

The Law of Attraction and the Science of Getting Rich

Law of Attraction

The Law of Attraction and the Science of Getting Rich

What are you thinking about right now? The Law of Attraction states that “whatever we think about, we bring about”. This law may initially seem like new age fluff but believe it or not, there are scientific merits to this proposition. The top quantum physicists of our time have discovered that our universe and our reality is very much directed by the “observer”.

When studying quantum particles (the smallest observable unit of matter), these scientists discovered that such particles behave in accordance with the person conducting the experiment. It the scientists “predict” that quantum particles behave in a certain way, they do. And yet, if the scientists “predict” that quantum particles behave in another way, they do. It is the “observer” that dictates the outcome of the experiment!
What does all this mean for us normal people? Well actually, these scientific experiments has far reaching implications for us as our world is made up of these same quantum particles! In this case, we are the “observer” the director and hence the creator of our reality, our world and our experience.

So, be careful of what you think about! For example, have you thoughts ever begun with the following phrases:

I don’t understand…
I don’t want…
I’m frustrated that…
I hate my…
I can’t figure out…
I’m stressed about…
I’m worried that…
I should be able to… but I can’t…
Why am I having so much trouble?

The Law of Attraction indifferent to the words preceding your thought. Whatever you think about you will attract into your life. When you think “I don’t understand why bad things always happen to me?” you are “attracting” bad things into your life. When you think “I want to get out of debt”, you are attracting more debt into your life. When you think “I’m worried I will get sick”, you are attracting sickness into your life! The Law of Attraction brings about what you focus on even if it is not what you want. Get it?
If you understand this principle, here are some examples of how to make the law of attraction work to support you rather than to act against you. Try observing your thoughts and changing your thinking in the following way:

“I want to get out of debt” to “I want to earn amazing riches”
“I hate my boss” to “I look forward to owning my own business”
“I don’t understand why he is so lazy” to “I love it when he helps out around the house”
“I’m stressed about this project” to “I always create amazing results in my projects”
“I’m worried about getting sick” to “I experience vibrant health daily”

Now that we have a better understanding of the Law of Attraction, it is no surprise why so many people struggle with regards to money. It is been said that “the rich get richer while the poor get poorer”. This is actually the Law of Attraction in action. Because the wealthy have money, they often think about how to best use their money and hence they attract more money. The poor on the other hand often think about their present lack of money and unfortunately, that also attracts lack into their lives. Currently, 96% of the world’s wealth is being earned by just 1% of the population!

To address this issue, the main teachers behind the movie is launching a program is called “The Science of Getting Rich” and it is based on employing the law of attraction to create wealth. This amazing program is based on the principles and philosophies outlined in a book of the same title written in 1910 by Wallace D Wattles. This is the same book that inspired the movie.

What is the Science of Getting Rich about? Well in the words of Wallace D. Wattles, “The ownership of money and property comes as a result of doing things in a certain way. Those who do things in this certain way, whether on purpose or accidentally, get rich. Those who do not do things in this certain way, no matter how hard they work or how able they are, remain poor. It is a natural law that like causes always produce like effects. Therefore, any man or woman who learns to do things in this certain way will infallibly get rich.” The Science of Getting Rich Seminar is all about teaching how to do things in this “certain” way to create wealth.

Know Thyself – Socrates

Know Thyself – Socrates

Know Thyself
Know Thyself

Know Thyself

These famous words spoken by Socrates many years ago are still relevant and useful today.

Let me ask you this. How well do you really know yourself? Are you aware of your true beliefs, or do you rarely look beneath the surface of your everyday feelings? Do you think that this statement is true “you are never upset for the reason you think you are”?
Very often you can remain unaware of the real reasons that you are upset. For example, when some-one let you down, you may think you are angry because they didn’t perform the task you expected, but deep down, you are probably upset because you feel disrespected.

Imagine you were passed over for a promotion. You think you are upset because you performed well and feel that you deserved it, but the truth may be that you are really feeling fear because the promotion would have meant an increase in salary that would help pay your bills.

My neighbor recently told me how she tries to be brutally honest with herself. For example, she said “I know that I should eat healthily and exercise more often, but the truth is that I just don’t want to” I thought, well at least she is not fooling herself with the usual excuses… not enough time, fresh produce is more expensive…etc…etc… How often do you make excuses to cover up the truth of why you do what you do?

Ask yourself how influenced you are by others. Many of your beliefs may not be serving you well even if they are useful to others. Question your basic beliefs about life and existence in general. It is only by reflection that you can truly build up your own belief system. Otherwise you remain a clone of your upbringing and never have the advantage of your own truth.

Taking time to know your inner self can bring immense benefits when making life choices or interacting with your family and friends.

It is a life long journey learning to know thyself. Your perceptions of the world may be entirely different to mine. It is only by going inside your psyche and asking the right questions that you will gradually reveal who you really are to your conscious mind.
The easiest way to know thyself is to ask more questions. When you are upset or extremely happy, ask the why question! The more questions, the deeper you dig, the more your truth is uncovered. Self-reflection done regularly will give you the knowledge to live your life more peacefully and stop the destruction that the lies you tell yourself can cause.

Why not take time this coming holiday to spend some of your time, quietly, alone, looking within? Introspection and meditation can bring to the surface useful insights that can be invaluable to you.

A life lived being true to yourself is a life well-lived indeed.

Life Lessons your GPS can Teach

Life Lessons your GPS  can Teach

Last week as I was driving to the airport I began to think about the Global Positioning System in my car. I noticed how patient Ken was. Ken is the voice setting that gives me directions. Before long I had to make a detour that took me in the opposite direction to the airport. I then noticed that Ken didn’t start a tantrum, or shout at me, but calmly asked me to change direction, repeatedly, until I was back on track. This started me thinking…

It’s a fact that wherever you drive, your GPS knows exactly where you are, and this is true in life as well. We all have our place in the world, albeit many roles. You may be a parent, a worker, or maybe a student, but at the same time you are you. Each one of us is a unique individual and has a valuable place in this world. Just think about it. Your GPS shows you exactly where you are, and no one else is in that particular spot, and this is true in life, you alone are the only person to fulfil your role in this lifetime.

The truth is that as you move through life you take yourself with you. Just like the GPS, you can run, but you can’t hide. Many people believe that things will get better if they move house, move state, move country or drastically change their lifestyle. However, very often they fail to realize that they take themselves with them. Their personality, their beliefs, their habitual actions all stay with them and before long the situation they have moved away from is recreated once again. It makes sense doesn’t it to take a look at your intrinsic values and beliefs, and examine them and correct them before taking any drastic measures?

Many of us find it difficult to keep on track when we start moving in a new direction, whether it be losing weight, or beginning a new avenue of learning. It is so true that we start out enthusiastically, and then we get distracted away from our objectives, and before long the goals we are aiming for gradually fade away. This often makes you angry at yourself or others and can end in you giving up on a dream. Ken never has this problem. He simply moves back on track. Your GPS knows that with a few turns you can soon be heading in the right direction.

I encourage you to take this lesson on board.
There is no need to beat your-self up when you slip off track, simply stay calm and move right back on the correct path. Remember, that however many times you veer off you always have the option to move back and achieve the outcome you desire.

All of us tend to let our thoughts wander as we drive along, very often we go for miles on automatic pilot without having any idea of where we are. Isn’t it so true of life as well? Ken, on the other hand, always knows where he is and what is happening around him. He is focused and aware. If you find yourself going through life in this automatic mode, then you are missing out on being truly alive. From now on, why not use your car GPS or even your mobile phone GPS as a catalyst to remind yourself to live in the moment. When you practice mindfulness, even for a few minutes at a time, your life becomes calmer; you feel peaceful and start to think more clearly.

Wouldn’t it be wonderful to have a real Ken in your life, to give you guidance when you start to slip off the track? Sometimes we get pigheaded and think we know best without considering any impartial points of view. All of us have people in our lives who would be happy to give us a new perspective. This doesn’t mean you have to take their advice. Like Ken my GPS, he often takes me along the major highways when I know that there is a short cut through a back street that will bring me to my destination sooner.
Alternatively, sometimes you meet with some road works, and you have to ignore the GPS for a time and go a longer way around. Bear in mind what other people, books or courses have to say and then either follow that advice or decide your own direction. At least then you know that you have considered other points of view, and therefore, you are making an informed decision.

From now on, my wish is for you to remember these lessons each time you notice or hear your GPS system and that it may just give you the push to continue on to achieve your dreams.

Energy Leeches v Enthusiastic Supporters

Which people in your life are leeches, and who supporters? Thinking right back to your early years, who can you remember being the friends and family that have put you down, told you “you can’t do it”, or “you are hopeless”? How did they make you feel? What did you do because of their negativity?

Think of the power you’ve given to these individuals. Now is the time to take your power back. You know who I am talking about. Friends, who excel at the subtle put-down. The family members that after you spend time with, who leave you feeling exhausted and depressed – your enthusiasm has disappeared and your energy gone.

Ask yourself “who needs them?”, and then take the steps necessary to remove them from your life, or at the least, limit contact with them if they are family members. It is time to stop allowing them have such a negative power over you. Take your power back, release their control over you, and have the strength to walk away.

Now, think about the passionate champions in your life, the ones who encourage and support you, and tell you that “you can do it”, “you can be successful”, “you will make it”. How does their influence affect you? The energy givers provide the power for you to ‘get-up-and-go oomph’ that catapults you towards your goals.

Spend more time with your supporters, and give them your backing to as well. You can feed off each other, and build momentum and energy.

If you haven’t got enthusiastic supporters in your life, then make that your top priority. Remember that you can also be your own leech or champion. Make sure that you treat yourself well.

Recently, I watched a program produced by Horizon that impacted me. The reporter talked with several professors’ about Western diet. The oversized takeout culture is giving many people, diabetes, and high blood pressure, leading to heart disease. The average sixty year-old now takes 6-9 prescription drugs each day. Of course, extra food, medications, and doctor visits cost money too.

Scientists tell us that too much protein speeds up cell production, leading to cancer. Reducing protein and calories allows the cells to slow, then move into repair mode, lessening the cancer risk.

The reporter tried three ways of reducing food intake. First, he fasted for three days and four nights, reducing his glucose, and blood pressure by half. The second method consisted of, eating normally one day and having a one 500 calorie meal the next. This works even though people tended to eat an extra ten percent on the ‘eat what you like day’ they still lost weight. The third method suited the reporter the best. Each week, he fasted but drank liquids, for two days. At the end of five weeks, he had lost weight and could come off his medications.

Why not try one of these techniques and improve your health, and vitality? I’m not a doctor so please consult your doctor first, if you have an illness as these methods may not be suitable for you.

As for me, I going to give the weekly two day fast a try.

Soul Spring-Cleaning

Helen normally loved spring-cleaning, the fragrance of freshly laundered curtains, sparkling windows and gleaming floors. But today, with a heavy heart, she tipped out her dresser drawer and sorted. It wasn’t just her home in a mess, so was her life.
She slotted the last pristine dresser drawer back into its frame, then sat back on the bed. Helen sighed as her brother Roger came to mind. They hadn’t spoken for at least a year, since Thanksgiving, and she missed him. She’d long forgotten the fight that caused the rift, but their stubborn streaks prevailed.

Helen looked up at the room corners, cobwebs. The long-handled pink feather duster whisked them away. If only her life was fixed so easily. Tom, her husband, had grown distant, and she realized why. She finished dusting and pulled out the vacuum cleaner. His voice echoed through the empty house. “Nag, nag, nag, can’t you give me a break? Be grateful for my strong qualities.” But it wasn’t so easy, she liked a tidy home. The rumpled cushions, the remote left in the kitchen, the list was endless.

She moved on to her daughter’s bedroom. As she opened the door, she gasped and almost shut it again. The girl was a slob, short and simple, and she saw no reason she should clean up after her. Melanie and she used to be close. She smiled as she pictured their shopping trips, and Sunday afternoons spent baking. How had this past year turned out so horribly? These days they barely talked, and she always wore those damned earplugs. The door slammed shut.

Exhausted, she sat in the kitchen with a mug of strong sweet coffee. The house gleamed, but the silence felt heavy. Life seemed happier when the kids were young, and she and Tom fooled around after the children’s bedtime. Her parents, now in their eighties, never seemed happy, would her marriage be like that? Her family life was headed downhill, she couldn’t deny it. A tear slipped down her cheek. Did she want to be right or be happy?

She rinsed her mug and left it on the draining-board, took a deep breath, made a decision, and picked up her cleaning caddy. Marching up the stairs toward her daughter’s room she felt energy suffuse her body and her heart felt lighter. She would clean her daughter’s room, then ring her brother and apologize. Tom’s favorite dinner would be waiting for him when he arrived home. She smiled. She would find time to visit the mall and chose a decent bottle of wine. Life was good!

What needs spring-cleaning in your life? Unresolved relationship issues drain your energy. Small acts of kindness toward your family members and friends oil the wheels of love. Are you often kind to strangers, while taking friends and family for granted? Isn’t that crazy? The people who love us and have our back, don’t receive the consideration that we give to strangers. Think about your actions today!

Do you Love Yourself?

Do you Love Yourself?

Do you love yourself, or is your self-esteem damaged? Are you self-defensive, with a get them before they get me attitude? Do you look at your reflection in a store window and feel disgusted with your image? When someone’s kind, do you wonder what the hidden motive is behind their actions? If you answered ‘yes’ to these questions, then you may have a low self-esteem.

Well-meaning parents and siblings could have unknowingly dented your sense of worth. Negative comments, designed to buck up your ideas, and perform in the way they want, had the opposite effect. Outwardly you may comply and become people pleasers, but inside, your self-worth is slowly destroyed.

As an adult, it’s time to take control, and give yourself what you need. Practicing self-kindness can quickly lift your self-image. No one is perfect, so accept yourself, warts and all. Choose self-loving actions, small or large, from a lazy bubble bath to the great vacation you’ve always dreamed of taking. Get into the habit of positive self-talk, and stand tall.

Forget the mistakes of the past and focus on the future you dream about. Each day, move toward that dream, and don’t underestimate yourself. Look in the mirror and say all the words you wish you had heard from others. You don’t have to wait around for anyone’s approval, you can give yourself the love, the pep talk, and the ‘Atta girl’ or ‘Atta boy’ encouragement in everything you do.

Decide to feel comfortable in your own skin, with your great personality, and move forward with many, many, acts of kindness to yourself. Have a fabulous day and a self-nurturing year.

When Life’s Unfair

Everyone’s life is a series of ups and downs, of valleys and mountain tops. We think if we do all what’s right, all will be well, but the truth is bad times do happen to decent people. The world doesn’t owe us a living and even when we believe that we deserve a abundant life, we’re sometimes thrown a curve ball.

Life can be unfair, and inconsistent. Life’s lessons are often painful because they there to teach us, and move us forward spiritually. You need the lows to appreciate the highs, otherwise life would be bland and uninteresting.

When you came into this world it was a struggle. You were forced down your mother’s birth canal and expelled out into the world. Your first emotion was pain, then as you grew older you learn to cry when hungry or needing a dry diaper. Right from the start life is teaching you through good and bad experiences.

Nobody owes you a living, as most people struggle with their own problems. The difference between survivors who prosper and those who don’t are the way they handle life’s curve balls. If you are real and accept problems will come your way, you’re prepared to deal with them more effectively. If you don’t accept that life will be unfair to you, then you will whine and complain your way through life, blaming others for your misfortune. When you think you have no control, you make no attempt to solve each problem. Then you won’t move on to future success.

We need some hardship to develop our characters and to make us empathetic, so we can comfort and encourage others. With every hardship, we grow in our capacity, to turn challenges into opportunities.

The author Tim Hansel said, “Pain is inevitable, but misery is optional”. Even the most successful people will face painful periods in their life, but they learn to overcome them or accept them. Accept reality, and you’ll be ready to deal with life’s ups and downs, learn from them, and come through on the other side a better person. When adverse events happen, you need to look for the silver lining and for constructive ways to deal with each problem. Some difficulties can’t be fixed, and in those cases you learn to handle the problem, seek alternative solutions, and make the best of challenges as they occur.

You may face hardships, but on balance, most of the time you can be happy, as long as you appreciate the good times, store up the reserves to cope with the bad. Good times will come around again. The bible it tells us “this too shall pass”, as eventually most problems do. Keep hope in your heart as you pass through the unfair storms of life.

Do you rely on someone else to save you?

Do you look for validation from others to feel love for yourself, or for someone to provide a solution to every problem? Do you believe that you can’t save yourself when facing life’s problems?

Many people haven’t the confidence to believe they can rely on themselves when faced with a sticky situation. Simple steps can build your self-confidence and give you the tools to take care of your own problems. This may include accepting but not relying on help from others.

The first habit to practice is track self-talk though out the day. The mind is the seat of your emotions. This is where self-respect and self-love begin. Change your negative self-talk by saying the opposite out-loud. For instance, “I’m not good enough to apply for that job.” to “If I don’t try I’ll never know if the company would hire me.”
Take charge of your situation by asking yourself “What would a wise person do here?”

Use the Internet to find out ways you can make items you need, or repair them.
Avoid situations or people that put you down in any way. Sometimes people put themselves in a situation that invites disrespect. They have become addicted to this behavior from others. Recognize these times and stay away.

Take care of your health and fitness. A healthy body helps develop a healthy mind. If you feel good you have the energy to deal with life’s ups and downs.
If you do need help perhaps for legal reasons, then consult a professional. If a friend or family member offers good help or advice unconditionally, then take it. You do deserve other people’s care.
From today take responsibility for yourself. See what you can do before relying on other people. What is the one thing you can do today to improve your situation? Do that one thing, then do the next and the next over time.
